Teaching concept
Architectural theory is devoted to questions of the social, cultural and aesthetic effectiveness of architecture. I am interested in the media and tools of architecture that condition design practices and are involved in our knowledge production. Starting from current challenges of technological, economic and social change, I want to understand historical developments and project perspectives for the future. The focus is on the interactions between digital cultures and the understanding of architecture. The focus will be on networks that encompass buildings, technical infrastructures, natural and cultural environments, and socio-economic systems. Methodologically, in addition to theoretical reflection, archival work and oral history are components of the teaching as well as the development of formats (exhibitions, installations, publications) that communicate the findings of the seminars to a broad public and discuss the social relevance of architecture.
