Library

The Department of Architecture Library (FBA) currently holds approximately 22,000 volumes, of which approximately 3,400 are journal volumes. There are 45 current periodicals held.

The books are sorted by subject, the temporal focus is on the 20th and 21st centuries (after 1945), although there may be temporal overlaps with thelibrary of the Department of History of Building and Architecture.

The rooms of the specialist library of architecture extend over three floors. The "Werner Sewing Library" is located on the ground floor. It is open to the public, the books can be searched online and can be viewed on site, but not borrowed. Books sorted by subject are located on the 1st floor, while periodicals are located on the 2nd floor.

There are 21 reading workstations, two scanner workstations and two computers for research. The library is equipped with WLAN. Free workstations at KIT or BLB are provided by the Seat-Finder.

Library introductions take place at the beginning of the semester. In addition, there are regular training courses offered by the KIT Library. Information about this can be found on the KIT Library page.

Library Council

The library council of the department coordinates book acquisitions and organizes book presentations. Acquisition suggestions are welcome!
