Dear students of the KIT-Department of Architecture,

We are pleased that you are interested in a semester abroad. For many years, the KIT-Department of Architecture has maintained close partnerships with a range of European universities. You have the opportunity to study there for one or two semesters without any tuition fees being applicable.

Furthermore, the KIT International Students Office has many worldwide university cooperation programs available to you. An internship abroad is also possible during and after your studies.

Alsace Summer School of Architecture and Crafts, from 6 July to 2 August 2026 (2 to 4 weeks)

Programme: visits, traditional construction, an introduction to Romanesque and Gothic architecture and to the work of Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, measured drawings, façade drawing, windows, doors and constructive details, geometry, the design of a School of Architecture and Craftsmanship project, and above all: numerous craft workshops (ceramics, stone carving, stone engraving, natural paint and plaster making, wattle and daub, lime slabs, half-timbered building restoration, etc.).

The Conques Summer School of Vernacular Architecture, from 26 August to 7 September 2026 (2 weeks of training)

A full visit of the Abbey Church of Sainte-Foy, measured drawings, vernacular construction, watercolour courses, the history of Romanesque and Neo-Romanesque architecture, optical drawing methods, history of craftsmanship in the region, an illumination workshop — not to mention walking excursions in the magnificent Occitan region!

A journey through Alsatian architecture, from 1 to 14 September 2026 (2 weeks of training)

From the village of Ammerschwihr to Strasbourg Cathedral, via Colmar, Ribeauvillé, Kaysersberg, Eguisheim and many others, up to the magnificent Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle, this itinerant school aims to be an introduction to the architecture, history and building traditions of this remarkable region.

Summer School Porto 2026

Porto Academy is an intensive international summer school that is organized annually since 2013.
Resumed program:
  • 8 Days (20-27 July 2026) Intensive workshop studios and lectures in Porto;

  • Confirmed guests: Andrea Faraguna, Atelier da Costa, Balissat Kacani, Baukunst, Bear, Didier Fiuza Faustino, Laura Cristea, Marc Leschelier, Nuno Melo Sousa, Takk;

  • Visit buildings by Távora, Siza, Souto de Moura, Rem Koolhaas and others;

 

Erasmus applicaton for the winter term 2026/27 and summer term 2027

Application from 1 December 2026 - 15 January 2026 via Moblity Online. Please prepare the following documents for your application: 

  • Information and proof of language skills (school leaving certificates that are not older than three years are accepted for the faculty-internal application!)
  • Certificate of enrolment
  • Proof of academic achievements
  • Curriculum vitae (tabular, max. two pages)
  • Letter of motivation (one page, in German)
  • Portfolio with at least three projects / drawings (max. 25 MB)
  • Confirmation of participation in the Buddy-Programm (printout of the completed registration form)
  • Application Form

Korean Studies Summer Programm

The 2026 Korean Studies Summer Program (KSSP) will be held at Hannam University, offering students a unique opportunity to experience Korea's vibrant culture, history, and academic environment.

Cabin Fever 2026 - International Summer School

Cabin Fever is an international summer school and festival organized by Hello Wood, set in the post-industrial landscape of Česká Kamenice. Over eight days, international architects will guide a group of students in designing and building a timber cabin from scratch, with a focus on hands-on learning, sustainability, and experimental design.
