How can digital fabrication support the repair of younger construction heritage? This lecture explores High-Tech facade constructions of the 1970s to 1990s, whose complex metal elements and exposed technical systems pose urgent conservation challenges. Based on Swiss case studies, the research develops digitally supported repair strategies to produce bespoke spare parts through advanced manufacturing techniques, enabling precise, resource-efficient interventions and reducing the need for large-scale replacement. Through non-invasive surveying, archival research, and on-site investigation, the project generates digital models and architectural-scale demonstrators. The work shows how digital repair strategies can preserve innovative façade constructions while retaining the original design intent, contributing to more sustainable approaches to the maintenance and conservation of building heritage.
