Franziska Singer

Wüstenrot Foundation Visiting Professorship in the Winter Semester of 2026/27
Franziska Singer Célia Uhald

Franziska Singer works as an architect in practice, research, and teaching. In her projects, she explores issues of social, cultural, and structural transformation. She addresses these issues across various scales and contexts characterized by differences. She views buildings as adaptable infrastructures and, through her designs, explores the creative potential of aesthetic and technical disruptions. This approach is shaped by precise scientific observations and speculative fiction.

Franziska Singer grew up in the Allgäu region and studied architecture at ETH Zurich and the University of Tokyo. She gained professional experience at HildundK in Munich, OMA/AMO in Rotterdam, and at BS+EMI Architektenpartner and raumbureau in Zurich. Since 2017, her firm, Franziska Singer Architektur, has been working on renovation and expansion projects in Zurich and the Allgäu region. At ETH Zurich, she served as a design assistant in the Meili Vogt Conzett studio in 2017–2018 and, from 2021 to 2026, as a scientist in teaching and research at Elli Mosayebi’s Chair of Architecture and Design.

In addition to her architectural practice and teaching, she is a co-founder of the interdisciplinary platform Atelier Werkstatt in Marktoberdorf and regularly organizes exhibitions, talks, workshops, and networking events. Since late 2025, she has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Künstlerhaus Marktoberdorf and is actively involved on the Board of the BDA Bavaria, advocating for change in support of emerging talent and gender equality.
