Erasmus

The application process for your Erasmus study program at the KIT-Department of Architecture is processed by the KIT International Students Office. There you can receive all important information regarding the requirements, deadlines and the application procedure. Please take note of the fact that you have to have the following language skills for studying architecture and art history:   

Architecture:

Language skills: For studying Architecture you need to have a minimum knowledge of the following languages at the time of application:

- a B1 level of German language certificate, if only courses taught in German will be attended

- a B2 level of English language certificate, if only courses taught in English will be attended

- a B1 level of German and a B2 level of English language certificates, if courses taught in English and German will be attended

Participation in the pre-semester German course offered at KIT is strongly recommended to all applicants, who don't hav any/sufficient German proficiency.

Art History:

Language skills: To study Art History, you need at least A2 level German language skills at the time of your application. If you are attending English lectures, you should be able to demonstrate good English language skills at the time of application, e.g. B1 level.

Guest study program

The applications of overseas exchange students, DAAD scholarship holders and free movers are handled by the International Students Office. There you will receive all important information regarding requirements, deadlines and the application process. Please note that you must prove the following language skills:

Architecture:

- a B1 level of German language certificate, if only courses taught in German will be attended

- a B2 level of English language certificate, if only courses taught in English will be attended

- a B1 level of German and a B2 level of English language certificates, if courses taught in English and German will be attended

Art History:

Germen: A2 successfully completed; if English courses are also taken, then proof of English language skills is also required.

The International Students Office will also inform you about possible study costs and financing options.

Preparation

After you have successfully applied for a study place at KIT, you have to start taking care of organizational matters, such as insurance policies, accommodation, and possibly a visa. The International Students Office has summarized all of the useful information regarding this for you.
